Italian major partnering with multiple yards to build wave of offshore facilities

Eni is in talks to place more offshore work with Chinese yards as it expands its supply chain up and down the length of China's coast.

The Italian major is in discussions with multiple Chinese yards — from Shenzhen in the south to Yantai in the north — on a wide range of facilities including floating liquefied natural gas units, floating production, storage and offloading vessels and fixed platforms.

Asia-based industry officials approached by Upstream said that over the next two years, Eni plans to bring more than half-a-dozen offshore oil and gas projects into construction and production, and that China has a big role to play in supply these offshore facilities.
