Front runners have emerged for an integrated subsea front-end engineering and design (FEED) competition and a key gas export pipeline project for Mubadala Energy's deepwater Andaman Sea gas development offshore Indonesia.

The development on the South Andaman production sharing contract — which Mubadala is accelerating at an impressive pace — is based on a leased floating production, storage and offloading vessel connected to a subsea production system. An offshore pipeline will carry the gas to an onshore receiving facility.

Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala has said the discoveries together contain more than 8 trillion cubic feet of gas in place, while joint venture partner Harbour Energy has indicated that multiple Tcfs are recoverable.
